Cupboards were a great neccesity and a very important piece of furniture beause it was used for storing many things. Because of their importance, they were passed down from generation to generation. The cupboard has many different looks, styles and uses. A corner cupboard was often used in a formal dining room to show off there expensive china or silver. Cupboards with doors often stored food. A pie safe had punched tin panels to keep baked goods. The kitchen we know today did not come about until the early 1900's. A dry sink or wet sink was used up until then. I have lots of new things to see and more coming!I make painted country furniture, paying close attention to normal wear and tear.
