My passion for miniatures caught my eye in 1978 where I went into a small but new miniature store in our local town  in Florida. The proprietor of the store was Tom and Lenny Bishop.  I learned many wonderful things from many talented people in his club. At this time in my life I was raising 2 very young babies, 2 1/2 years and a 10 month old. Which didn’t allow for much  time to build houses or for that matter do much of anything, so  I put my passion on the top shelf. I did manage to go to shows and collect tidbits for later use.
Twenty years later, three kids raised,  a few moves to other states, and two beautiful granddaughters I am finally able to take my passion off the shelf. My first dollhouse will never be completed, a work still in progress. I manage to always find something I need to buy or I just can’t live without.
There are three reasons that made me decide to give building furniture a try. The first reason we had a fire on December 2001, a few days before Christmas that destroyed most of what I had collected.  The second reason is, it was hard and still is hard to find primitive country pieces. The third reason, my parents and husband encouraged me to start selling my furniture and accessories.
My first show was June of 2006. in Sturbridge, Massachusetts hosted by Molly Cromwell. I had a lot of fun and met some wonderful people there. I hope to do more shows soon. I have also sold a few things on E-bay.
Last but not least my other hobbies include quilting, sewing, and antiques. I don’t like to cook anymore but Monday’s are domestic goddess days,
If you want to know more about me feel free to contact me through e-mail and I will get right back to you. I love to hear from other miniature enthusiasts.
